Hi All,
I spent last week exploring 🇺🇿 Uzbekistan, which I think could become the next Nomad Hotspot... Plus I met some of the worlds most traveled people at the NomadMania conference, including 18 "UN Masters" aka people who have been to EVERY COUNTRY in the world!
Fun fact, more people have been to space than visited every country! And interestingly, as of last week, 1 person made history and has done BOTH!
More on that below...

👋 Welcome to the community!

First, I want to welcome the thousands of new members who recently joined our community! If you don't know me, I'm Matt, a serial traveler since I studied abroad in Vienna 12 years ago. Since then, I've lived, worked & explored 101 countries + 19 territories (and counting). I founded Pangea as a way to keep track of where & when my friends would be in the future, so we could coordinate our plans, and see each other more often IRL. It's worked REALLY well, and lead us to plan tons of epic trips together. From Castles on the Garden Route, to an epic Cape Town season, to ANTARCTICA.
Now, its evolved into the leading social app for Solo Travelers & Digital Nomads to meet new friends, exchange recommendations & track the places they've been.
And, its 100% free. No paywalls or upsells.
The app still has some rough edges, and our team is working hard to address the feedback you've shared with us as we get our beta ready for launch this summer.
If you haven't already, be sure to share Pangea with your travel friends so you can coordinate your plans, and
explore the world, together.
If you have any ideas for the app, want to take a trip together, or just want to say hi, you can reach me by replying to this email!

🤯 Visiting EVERY country in the world
I attended the NomadMania Conference in Fergana Vally, Uzbekistan last week, and had the privilege of meeting leaders from across the travel space, including 18 UN Masters (pictured above) who visited every country in the world.
Hearing about how they started traveling, when they made the decision to go for all the countries, and some of their highlights was truly fascinating.Mette Ehlers Mikkelsen, the first Danish Woman to visit every country, Charles Veley, considered the Godfather of Systematic Travel after setting the world record for Most Traveled Person in 2005, Boris Kester, author of The Long Road To Cullaville, and of course Harry Mitsidi, Founder of NomadMania - were among the UN Masters I had the privilege of spending extended time with.
Each shared incredible perspective, and inspired me even further to continue to see as much of the world as I can.
I look forward to traveling with this group in the months to come as NomadMania starts to organize expeditions to "off the beaten path" destinations.
I'm planning to join for several of the inaugural trips, and as these roll out further, we plan to work together to make them available to the Pangea Community.
🇺🇿 Is Uzbekistan the next Nomad Hotspot?

After the Conference, I spent the rest of the week exploring and working from Samarkand & Bukhara. These two historic cities along the Silk Road boast incredible sites like Registan Square, Kalan Mosque and more. The scale and craftsmanship of many of these sites rival world wonders such as the Taj Mahal, but with a fraction of the tourists.
Plus, with a super affordable cost of living, reasonably fast WiFi & super friendly people, I could see Uzbekistan becoming a Nomad Hotspot in Central Asia in the years to come...

🥳 Community Recap

We hosted a Nomad Meetup in Lisbon, after I planned a last minute trip when I saw we had a community hotspot there. We had a great showing from the Pangea Community, along with several new friends who joined us from the Orphaned Shirazi Journey & Outsite Groups in Lisbon. Keep an eye out for our next Meetup, which will likely be in London in mid-July!
ICYMI: 👋 Summer Schedule
🇬🇪 June in Tibilisi w WiFi Tribe
I'm part of the June WiFi Tribe Chapter in Tbilisi, Georgia this month. I'll share my full review at the end of the chapter, but has been off to a great start! Pangea members get their WiFi Tribe applications expedited - just select Pangea in the application form!
🇧🇬 Join me at Bansko NomadFest
I’m excited to join several of our ambassadors at Bansko (June 22-29th) this year. I’ve heard amazing things and can’t wait to try it for myself. You can use Pangea25 for $25 off your ticket (case sensitive). Join our community chat here if you're planning on attending.
🇬🇧 July in London
I'll be in London next month after more than a year since my last visit, along with a ton of the OG Pangea (Baker) squad. We'll be hosting a Pangea Meetup, likely on July 17th... more details to come on that...
🇵🇹 5 SPOTS LEFT for August in Porto
With ONLY 5 SPOTS LEFT, you should be sure to join the Special Edition that NomadNest is organizing in Porto. I was there last summer, and its truly an amazing city. NomadNest was started by RY Alumni Walid & Joanna, and they've brought on the best of the former RY city-team leads. Thiago who used to run the RY Floripa program will be hosting the Porto Special Edition, and you don't want to miss it!If you're going anywhere that NomadNest offers a program, be sure to join, as they have a great offering and are still working to get off the ground 🙌
👋 Want your program featured?
If you manage a Digital Nomad program that you think would be relevant to our community of 25k+ Digital Nomads & Solo Travelers, just reply to me directly. We only feature programs that we have personally verified - but are always on the lookout to support new projects trying to reach this community 💪🚀
Its amazing to see so many new people joining our community, and using Pangea to coordinate their travel plans for this summer & beyond with friends.
If you're new, be sure to invite ANYONE who would benefit from keeping track of your plans. My parents love it as a way to keep track of where I'll be even though they don't travel as much as I do.
And of course, if you have a travel squad, seeing where everyone is going (or thinking of going) is a game changer 🔥
Thanks for your help in spreading the word and good luck in the Flight Giveaway!
Cheers,
-Matt
